Meet the Photographer Behind the Camera

Meet Elizabeth, Your Maple Grove Boudoir Photographer

Let’s answer the question you may really be wondering: Who is going to help me pose when I’m standing in a boudoir studio wearing far less than I normally would?

Hi, I’m Elizabeth—and making that moment feel surprisingly comfortable is one of my favorite parts of what I do.

I’m the woman behind the posing and encouragement at 4 Girls Glamour, our private luxury boudoir studio in Maple Grove, Minnesota. While Aaron works with the lighting and camera angles, I stay focused on you. I guide your expression, your hands, your chin, your toes, and everything in between. You will never be left standing there wondering what you are supposed to do.

And yes, we laugh a lot. A boudoir session can be bold, beautiful, and meaningful without feeling overly serious or intimidating.

How I Found Boudoir Photography

I didn’t begin with a glamorous studio or a perfectly mapped-out plan. Some of my first boudoir sessions were created in a makeshift studio in our home with women I worked with. What stayed with me wasn’t only the photographs. It was watching a woman look at the back of the camera and realize, sometimes for the first time in a long time, that the beautiful woman in that image was really her.

That feeling changed the direction of our business.

We started 4 Girls Glamour in 2011, and for the past 15 years I have had the privilege of helping women see themselves differently. I have also taught other photographers about posing and served as president of the Twin Cities Professional Photographers Association, but the part I still love most is working one-on-one with the woman standing in front of my camera.

Every woman brings a different story into our studio. My job is not to turn you into someone else. It is to help you see the confidence, beauty, softness, strength, and personality that are already yours.

You Do Not Need to Know How to Pose

This may be the most important thing I can tell you: you are not expected to arrive knowing how to pose.

You do not need to practice in the mirror. You do not need to know your “good side.” You do not need to lose weight first, feel completely confident, or become a different version of yourself before booking a boudoir session.

I will demonstrate the poses, talk you through each movement, adjust the little details, and make sure you know exactly what to do next. I pay attention to everything from the angle of your shoulders to the placement of your fingers. If something feels awkward for a moment, that does not mean it looks awkward—and I will be right there encouraging you through it.

Most women arrive with at least a few nerves. That is normal. Confidence does not have to come through the studio door with you. Sometimes it shows up while we are creating together.

If you are the kind of woman who likes to know every detail ahead of time, our FAQ explains what to expect from a boudoir session from start to finish.

A Bold Gift for Yourself—or Someone You Love

Women book a Minnesota boudoir photography experience for all kinds of reasons. Some are creating a personal anniversary, birthday, wedding, or holiday gift for their partner. Others are celebrating a milestone, reclaiming their confidence after a difficult season, or doing something that has been sitting on their wish list for years.

And sometimes the reason is simply, “I want to do this for me.”

A boudoir album may be wrapped for someone you love, but the experience belongs to you. You are the one who gets the pampering, the laughter, the moment in front of the camera, and the chance to see yourself with fresh eyes. That is why so many women tell us the session became just as meaningful to them as the finished gift was to their partner.

You do not need a major milestone or someone else’s permission to celebrate the woman you are today.

Bold Looks Different on Every Woman

Bold does not have to mean wearing the least amount possible. It can be black lace and heels, a soft sweater, a bodysuit, your favorite jeans, your partner’s button-down shirt, or a simple sheet. It can feel romantic, playful, glamorous, moody, elegant, or a little bit daring.

Your session should feel like you—perhaps a version of you that does not get to step forward every day, but still you.

Before your session, we talk through wardrobe, comfort level, and the kind of images you are drawn to. We also have a client closet available, so you do not have to figure everything out on your own. On the day of your session, professional hair and makeup give you time to settle in, relax, and enjoy being taken care of before we begin photographing.

Nothing is forced. We create within your comfort level, and you are always in control of how much you would like to show.

What It Is Like to Work With Me

I am a wife, a mom of five, and a woman who understands how easy it is to spend years taking care of everyone else while putting yourself somewhere near the bottom of the list.

When you come into our Maple Grove boudoir studio, I am not looking for flaws. I am watching for the little shift when you begin to relax. I am looking for the expression that feels like you, the pose that makes you feel strong, and the moment when you stop worrying about the camera and start enjoying yourself.

I will encourage you, fix the stray hair, remind you to breathe, and probably cheer when we create something especially beautiful. I want you to feel supported through the entire experience—from our first conversation and wardrobe planning through your guided session and same-day image reveal.

The photographs matter, of course. We want you to leave with artwork you love, whether that is a luxury album, portraits, wall art, or images kept just for you. But I also want you to remember how you felt while we made them.

Thinking About Your Own Boudoir Session?

If you have been searching for a female boudoir photographer in Minnesota because you want to do something bold, create an unforgettable gift for your partner, or finally give yourself an experience that is entirely about you, I would love to talk with you.

Our private 4 Girls Glamour studio is located in Maple Grove and welcomes women from Minneapolis, St. Paul, throughout the Twin Cities, and across Minnesota.

You do not have to feel ready enough, brave enough, or confident enough before reaching out. Start with a conversation. Ask me the questions you may feel silly asking—I promise I have probably heard them before.

When you are ready, I will be here to guide you through every pose.

—Elizabeth
